I comment but they decline..
I again commented but still the webmaster declined my comment. This was my story few months back. But with the passage of time and initially gaining few tips from my business partner Dhruv, I now have mastered the art of effective blog commenting. I call my blog commenting campaigns a success because I am running 4 blogs and all of them have high do follow back-links.
How I did it? How I changed my marketing strategy? What initial mistakes did I made?
Initially I made some blunder mistakes. But as one says one learns from his/her mistakes. Some of the mistakes which I made while commenting on do follow blogs were – I was placing the URL of the post in the website column. And in the comment section, I wrote the URL of post published on my blog. This was the major mistake that I made and as a result my comments always got trashed.
But time changes and In this post I would give you some of the tips that helped me a lot while commenting on other blogs.
1. Make A List
Before commenting you should be very clear about the list of do-follow blogs that you need to target and learn from them. Make sure that your list should consists of blogs which are regularly updated with quality content and do have good PageRank. For example – If my blog niche is related to blogging and social media then I will find a list of do-follow blogs having the same niche. It is not that you cannot comment on other blogs having different niche but in order to get targeted quality traffic you need to stick to that list.
Moreover to make this list you can visit Technorati directory, IndiBlogger and can view your own g+ circle to make one. Remember, your list serves as a weapon and your contacts or names of blogs in it serves as ammunition and you should always load it by updating it.
2. Original Gravatar Image
Well I have seen many of my blogger friends who promote their blog using fake pictures as their Gravatar image. The Gravatar image should have your face visible if not the entire body. You can get your free Gravatar image from www.WordPress.com or www.Gravatar.com where in you need to upload your photo which will then be used as a default image whenever you comment on other blogs. The picture will only be available in the comment section if you use the same email ID which you used while signing up for Gravatar.com or WordPress.com.
3. Positive And Honest Expression
If you read a post and if you liked it then you can comment in the positive manner. OR if you did not like the post and somewhat disagreed with it, then you can always say to the author “I would like you to inculcate this point too and apart from the (hypothetical) point, all the points are worth to remember”.
By using such a language, you neither disrespected nor challenged the author. As a result your comments would never get disapproved and instead will get accepted as you showed your honest approach towards the article. Also, you can add another point that author has not mentioned in his post.
4. No one word and Cheesy Comments
The comment should consist of at least 3-4 lines where in you have expressed your viewpoint. It should not be a cheesy one like the usual boyfriend-girlfriend text like “mmuaah… love you and thanks for sharing such a lovely post”. Though you may think that it consists of 1-2 lines but it is seriously not possible for the blog owner to accept it.
5. Never buy back-links
You may come across various websites urging you to buy high PR backlinks at low prices. These are all black hat SEO techniques and their effect would be momentarily. I am sure of it that one day when Google crawls your website then you would be penalized. So be safe and always go for natural back links VIA blog commenting and guest posting.
I assure you if you follow these tips, then your blog commenting campaign would be a success. But I would like to reinforce the very fact that “Success in blogging is not an event, it is a process”. So it will take time but the results would be definitely fruitful.
